About the maker

Simeon Dux is an award winning furniture maker and designer from Melbourne, Australia.

As a professional woodworker since 2004, Simeon launched his business in 2015 to pursue his passion of crafting unique, handmade furniture and decor.

Working closely with his clients, Simeon designs and creates bespoke pieces of furniture from his workshop in Northcote, to suit their specific needs in both a highly functional and aesthetically pleasing way.

Using premium quality and environmentally sustainable materials, coupled with time-honoured joinery and craftsmanship, Sim ensures heirloom quality furniture that will be a beautiful edition to your home, office or workspace.

Sim spent the first 6 years of his furniture making career at the Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking, crafting furniture, restoring antiques and honing his skills with the guidance of Alastair Boell, a graduate of the prestigious North Bennett Street School in Boston. Continuing to grow and learn, Sim also undertook a number of specialist classes such as timber finishing, parquetry, the Roubo workbench and chair making to add to his understanding of the craft and further his skill set.

Now also as a teacher of numerous private students and an instructor at the Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking, Sim continues to challenge himself and encourage aspiring woodworkers by sharing his knowledge and reaffirming skills and techniques.

Simeon is influenced by classic design and theory and strives to reinterpret classic styles in elegant contemporary ways, which has led to him creating pieces for acclaimed artists, award winning architects, interior designers, advertising agencies, bars, cafes and discerning private clients.
